Household Jobs You’ve Probably Forgotten to Do

There is so much to think about if you own your own house. Even if you’re currently renting a place, there is a lot in the general maintenance of just living in a home. Some of these Household Jobs stare at you in the face. Chores like hoovering and doing the dishes are hard to put off.

If you don’t hoover or dust, for example, you’ll very quickly see a build-up over time. However, some jobs are easy to put off and even forget at times. Here are just a few examples of some of these tasks that you’ve probably forgotten about.

Clean Your Outside Drains

Depending on where you live, the weather often changes quite a bit throughout the year. Whether that’s rain, snow or leaves falling off the trees, these changes can have an impact on your outside drains over time.

These are easy to not think about in day-to-day life, but you’ll certainly notice it when it’s starting to clog up. Making sure you’re clearing your outside drains out just a few times a year can stop you from having any issues that can happen when you leave it for too long.

Clean Your Bathtub Drain

Speaking of drains, one drain that doesn’t get anywhere near enough attention as it needs is the bathtub drain. Much like with the drains outside, it’s not until you have an issue that you remember to do this job.

It’s important to clear it out before your feet start to be submerged during a shower, as the longer you leave it, the worse it can get. If you do have a blocked bathtub drain that you can’t seem to clear, some services can clear it out for you.

Once the water is freely flowing again, keeping on top of it is a good idea.

Fix That Leaky Pipe

It’s surprising how easy it is to ignore something like a leaky pipe. Once you put something under it, it can be all too natural to just get used to emptying that thing now and again.

However, a leaky pipe can become much worse and there is no point in leaving it, especially when it can be so easy to fix.

Clean Out the Garage

Throughout the year (or years) it’s normal to keep saying to yourself “I’ll put this in the garage”. The garage is probably home to the things in your home that you don’t need all the time but use occasionally.

Unfortunately, amongst those things, clutter can build up. Years of putting things in there can come back to bite you, which is why you must clear it out regularly.

The more you do this, the less work it will be each time, and will be so much simpler to keep straight. No one is saying you should have a spotless garage but one that you can walk into easily might be nice.
